# Changelog ## Project billing assignments **July 6, 2026** Organization administrators can now view and manage the payment method assigned to each project. Administrators can move one or more projects to another payment method within the same organization, helping keep usage charges allocated correctly when billing arrangements change. See [Billing](/mkio/how-to/managing-your-organization/billing#move-a-project-between-payment-methods) for details. ## Payment methods can be deleted **July 3, 2026** Organization administrators can now delete payment methods from the Admin UI. A deleted payment method no longer appears to the organization's customers or in the Admin UI, and any redemption links associated with it stop working. A payment method with projects still attached cannot be deleted. A payment method deleted by mistake can be restored via the API. ## Styled WebVTT subtitles **June 25, 2026** MK.IO can now preserve color and style information from input subtitles in Web Video Text Tracks (WebVTT) output. ## Teletext to TTML conversion for Static Multiview **June 24, 2026** Static Multiview now accepts Teletext tracks at the input and converts them to Timed Text Markup Language (TTML) tracks at the output, matching support already available for Elastic Multiview. ## New MK.IO billing view **June 23, 2026** The new **Billing** view is now generally available in MK.IO. Administrators can review organization spend across MK.IO and MK.IO Beam, filter by product, inspect monthly and daily usage, download comma-separated value (CSV) reports, and manage the Beam billing model for each payment method. See [Billing](/mkio/how-to/managing-your-organization/billing) for details. ## Improved payment method redemption for multi-organization accounts **June 15, 2026** Redemption links for direct sales payment methods are now scoped to a single organization when possible, reducing the risk of a payment method being associated with the wrong organization. If a link can't be scoped automatically and your account has multiple organizations, MK.IO now prompts you to choose which organization to redeem it against. ## Payment method display names **June 3, 2026** Payment methods now support display names in the MK.IO user interface and Management Application Programming Interface (API). Use display names to distinguish multiple payment methods associated with the same sales order. The name appears in payment method lists and details. See [Billing](/mkio/how-to/managing-your-organization/billing#understand-payment-methods) for details. ## Beam usage summaries for partner customers **June 3, 2026** Customers who access MK.IO through a channel partner can now see current-month Beam usage summaries on the MK.IO dashboard, including encoding and reception hours. Billing information remains managed by the channel partner and is not shown to those customers. ## Extended live event archive window **May 19, 2026** Live event archive windows now support durations of up to 7 days, up from the previous maximum of 25 hours. When the archive window is set to more than 25 hours, the manifest presents a rolling 25-hour window of the most recent content. To access content older than 25 hours, specify start and end times in the manifest request query parameters. You can also use asset or account filters to control exactly which portion of the archive each manifest request returns. See [Extended archive window](/mkio/how-to/live-streaming/extended-archive-window) for details. ## Fastly CDN delivery **May 19, 2026** MK.IO self-service and managed deployments previously using Akamai now use Fastly for Content Delivery Network (CDN) delivery. The migration also adds updated monitoring and metering for CDN-backed streaming endpoints. ## ESAM automation for Static Multiview flows **May 19, 2026** Static Multiview flows now support Event Signaling and Management (ESAM) out-of-band signaling and automation, including slate insertion — matching functionality already available for live channels. ## AWS Marketplace private offers **May 18, 2026** MK.IO now supports private offers through Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace. This release supports pre-committed marketplace agreements with custom rate cards and entitlements. ## Expanded Static Multiview layouts **May 7, 2026** Static Multiview now supports layouts with up to 9 tiles, up from the previous maximum. ## High-scale flow resilience **April 13, 2026** MK.IO now handles high-volume flow workloads with fewer and less complex database queries. These changes reduce platform load and improve resilience for customers. ## Broader packaging interoperability **March 6, 2026** MK.IO can now apply advanced settings to the just-in-time packager. These settings support packaging interoperability requirements, including DASH interoperability and cache values. ## RIST distribution for Multiview **January 28, 2026** MK.IO now supports Reliable Internet Stream Transport (RIST) distribution for Multiview sources. A source can be reused up to 250 times in downstream flows across multi-cluster locations without distributing multiple copies over the internet. ## Self-service Multiview **November 19, 2025** Self-service Multiview is now available to select MK.IO customers. You can create Multiview channels, with quotas and usage statistics available for the supported flow types. ## VOD audio dubbing **November 14, 2025** MK.IO now supports on-demand audio dubbing for Video on Demand (VOD) content. Use an Artificial Intelligence (AI) workflow to generate translated audio tracks from an existing audio track. VOD audio dubbing is available in all regions and is billed per minute of processed content. Use this feature to add commentary, alternate languages, or descriptive audio. Audio track side-loading is available in all regions at no additional charge. The message also appears in the **Create and start** workflow, so you can confirm that charges apply before the endpoint starts. ## Compare live channel templates **October 15, 2025** You can now compare Live Channel template versions in the MK.IO interface. Choose a revision to see a side-by-side or inline comparison, review highlighted metadata and configuration changes, and navigate directly to modified sections. ## Uninterrupted live service upgrades **October 15, 2025** Nightly MK.IO control plane upgrades no longer interrupt running Live Events or Live Channel services. Planned service interruptions remain limited to agreed maintenance windows. ## Expanded Dolby Vision support **October 10, 2025** MK.IO now supports Dolby Vision Profile 8.4 for Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) channels and Dolby Vision Profile 8.1 passthrough. Profile 8.4 avoids converting HLG sources to PQ10, while Profile 8.1 passthrough preserves source metadata in the encoded output. ## AV1 support in live streaming **July 21, 2025** MK.IO live encoding and packaging now support the AV1 video codec as an alternative to HEVC, reducing bitrate and Content Delivery Network (CDN) costs for progressive, internet-delivered streams up to HD resolution. AV1 support is in limited availability and not enabled by default. ## Dynamic live outputs for events **July 2nd, 2025** You can now dynamically add or remove live outputs from a live event in MK.IO, even while the event is running. **What is new** - Add or remove one or more live outputs at any time, without stopping or restarting the event. - Manage destinations on the fly for greater flexibility in live production workflows. - Streamline your transition from Live to VOD by controlling exactly how and where your live content is output and recorded. ## Live transcription **July 2025** Live encoding events can generate real-time subtitles through the `Predefined_ACSLiveTranscription` AI pipeline. The pipeline produces WebVTT subtitles for HLS output and TTML subtitles for DASH output, with less than five seconds of added latency. Configure the source language and optional expected phrases when creating the live event. The feature launched in all regions and is billed per minute of a running live event. The workflow produces WebVTT subtitle tracks for the source and target languages. The feature launched in all regions and is billed per minute of processed VOD content. The initial view grouped usage into Live Processing and Recording, Content Processing and Transcoding, Video Streaming, Content Protection, and Storage Management. Customers with multiple projects could inspect each project or an aggregate view. Usage across multiple subscriptions was aggregated for reporting, while charges remained separated by subscription. The detailed view launched in all regions at no extra cost. You can also add, edit, and remove devices directly in the MK.IO UI without using the API. Existing MK.IO and Azure Media Services assets remained deliverable, and existing transforms required no changes. - Encoding transforms added support for variable-frame-rate input. - Standard VOD transcoding began generating one JPEG thumbnail at 50 percent of the size of the highest-resolution rendition. The release also added the `MediaKind.ThumbnailGeneratorPreset` for custom thumbnails and sprite generation. They convert live-event recordings or legacy MP4 content to the current MP4 layout. The policies had no additional feature charge at launch, but outbound traffic remained billable. The initial integrated provider was Akamai. The release also retained support for bringing an external CDN to an MK.IO origin. Integrated CDN delivery launched as a pay-as-you-go capability backed by dedicated endpoint capacity. At launch, customers needed to create a new CDN endpoint because an existing endpoint could not be converted. In May 2026, MK.IO moved integrated CDN delivery from Akamai to Fastly. The connection requires configuration in MK.IO and approval by the storage account owner in Azure. Requests fail until both sides are configured. At launch, the private link could not be removed from that MK.IO storage resource after it was enabled. At launch, the feature required the MK.IO 2024 plan and had a fixed monthly fee.
