Quick start

The following steps need to be carried out to configure and register the MK.IO Beam device:

Install the ISO

This step is required for SW Only customers. The ISO is pre-installed on MK.IO Beam hardware purchased from MediaKind.

See Install the ISO.

Set control IP address

For SW Only customers, follow the instructions in the email from SWSupply with the subject containing the text "Your recent MK.IO Beam purchase..."
For MK.IO Beam hardware purchased from MediaKind, follow the instructions on the paper Quick Start Guide that was supplied with the MK.IO Beam hardware.

Connect to the web user interface

Open a web browser.
Enter the following URL, then press Enter:
- http://[Control-IP-Address]

Where [Control-IP-Address] is the control IP address set in the previous step.

When the login page displays, enter your username and password. The default username and password is printed on the paper Quick Start Guide shipped with the unit.

The Home page displays.

⚠️

We strongly recommend that you change the default password to increase security. The default password can be changed by clicking on the user icon in the upper right corner of the window, then selecting Change password from the drop-down menu.

Configure the network

See Network Configuration.

Set at least one DNS server as DNS configuration is required for connection to MK.IO.

Register the MK.IO Beam device with MK.IO

See Device Onboarding Process (opens in a new tab).

Registration status will persist over an upgrade but will not persist if the device is re-imaged for any reason.
