Manage licensing

Reliable Transport Licensing

To use the functionality provided by the RT component, you need:

  • licenses of type FAT1023941/4 (SRT TX RX) for SRT Caller or SRT Listener instances
  • licenses of type SWF1030005 (Zixi TX RX) for Zixi Feeder or Zixi Receiver instances
  • licenses of type SWF1030012 (RIST TX RX) for RIST Caller or Zixi Listener instances

The following number of licenses will be used:

  • SRT, Zixi or RIST input: 1 license of the respective type
  • SRT caller or Zixi Feeder output: 1 license of the respective type
  • SRT Listener or RIST (listener) output: 1 license per each 10 maximum allowed connections
    • e.g. SRT Listener output with 10 maximum allowed connections: 1 license of type SRT TX RX
    • e.g. RIST Listener output with 21 maximum allowed connections: 3 licenses of type RIST TX RX

If licenses are not available, services will start and run only for a short time (grace period of 3 minutes), after which functionality will be disabled and specific alarms will be raised.

Load licences

If you have been provided with a license file, follow the next steps to load the licenses on your system.

  1. Click Servers on the left-side menu.

  2. Click for the server with the Licensing processing type.

    The Licensing processing type may display for the Controller server if the licensing manager is installed on the same machine as the Controller.

  3. Select the Licenses tab.

  4. Click Import license > Select file to browse and select the file to import.

    When import is successful, a success popup appears.

  5. Click OK to dismiss the pop-up and verify that the Licenses page now contains the expected licenses.

    If import is not successful or the licenses page doesn’t contain the expected information, contact MediaKind support.
